Securitas Security Services USA, Inc. Area Trainer-Greater Toronto & Southern Ontario in Toronto, Ontario

Overview: Reporting to the Area HR Manager, Greater Toronto and Southern Ontario, the Area Trainer for the Greater Toronto and Southern Ontario Region will be responsible for managing and administering Securitas' Screening Program, development of training materials, tests/quizzes and first aid and cpr certification programs in house. This role will also involve the development and administration of curriculum for report writing, supervisor training and other programs to further facilitate and continue the ongoing training and development of new and existing Securitas security personnel. This role will be responsible for both our Guarding and Mobile Division staff.

Key Job Duties:

  • Communicate with the recruitment team with schedules for SSP and training programs.

  • Lead the Securitas Screening program for new potential security staff, administer tests, videos, and other materials for the Securitas Screening Program.

  • Develop a training calendar every month with information related to courses being held.

  • Function as first point of contact for inquiries related to training including First Aid and CPR recertification for current Securitas security personnel.

  • Accurate tracking of candidate test scores, ensuring candidates meet Securitas Screening Program criteria.

  • Collaborate with the National Director of Training for new programs and make recommendations based on current trends.

  • Notify uniform department when candidates can pick up their uniforms.

  • Data entry and collection of onboarding documents for new staff and hire them into the HRIS.

  • Follows appropriate instructional procedures or methods, such as individual training, group instruction, self study, lectures, demonstrations, simulation exercises, role playing, and computer based training.

  • Providing documentation and corresponding with Clients and Securitas personnel via email.

  • Maintains knowledge of current trends in the security industry for training and recommend new programs or curriculum to further enhance security guard and supervisors' skills.

  • Maintains records of Security Guard qualifications, certifications and training and coordinates on-site training requirements with Site Supervisor to meet client needs.

  • Train on various courses related to security guard industry.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • College diploma in a related discipline or equivalent.

  • Current First Aid and CPR Instructor certification from Red Cross.

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence

  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience training security personnel.

  • Knowledge of the security industry is required.

  • Solid planning and organizing skills.

  • Solid customer service skills and results orientation

  • Effective communication and people skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse culture.

  • Strong customer service and results orientation ensuring deadlines are consistently met.

  • Proficient in use of various software applications including MS Word, Excel, MS Forms, and email.
