Bechtel Supply Chain offers talented individuals who have initiative, integrity, and a determination to tackle the most complex supply chain challenges of supporting projects located around the world, utilizing global suppliers and contractors, and managing logistics to connect the two.

Each year, Bechtel’s Supply Chain teams buy approximately $18 billion of goods and services from suppliers in more than 50 countries. Once purchased, those goods and services must be delivered to projects worldwide, often to some of the most remote and challenging locations. Supply Chain professionals at Bechtel make this happen through various avenues, including:

  • Procurement/Purchasing

  • Contracts & Subcontracts

  • Inventory & Warehouse Management

  • Logistics

  • Integrated Materials Management

Bechtel, along with key sub-vendors Bantrel and Comtech, has been appointed as the Delivery Partner (DP) within an Integrated Project Team (IPT) comprising the customer, Metrolinx, and its Technical Authority (TA) for the Ontario Line Subway (OLS) Project. The OLS Project scope includes the design build, operation, and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment, being delivered through major Public Private Partnership (P3) contracts and multiple Early and Advanced Works (EAW) contracts. This role will support Contract Management of the OLS contracts.

Job Summary:

Contracts lead the formation and management of service and construction agreements. For our projects, you will participate in all types of contracting, including engaging private partnerships, design and engineering firms, construction subcontractors, and other service providers.

The various contracts activities demand detail-oriented individuals with multifaced skills, flexibility, enthusiasm for individual and team tasks, and knowledge of supply chain functions, contract terms, and legal requirements.

Typical Activities

  • Provide expertise in the qualification, evaluation, and negotiation of changes with contractors.

  • Manage subcontracts to ensure satisfactory performance and adherence to the terms and conditions.

  • Build subcontractor relationships.

  • Engage with contracts management teams that provide technical and commercial intelligence on the contract management to our project teams.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management personnel may be responsible for:

  • Becomes knowledgeable with various contract management tasks and the procedures applicable to Contract Administration.

  • Performs assigned contracts administration tasks under direct supervision from Contract Administrator or Contract Manager.

  • Becomes knowledgeable on project activities affecting contractual rights and obligations, contract performance, contract administration and other commercial matters.

  • Prepares a draft of contract changes by obtaining necessary information from various stakeholders and reviews with management.

  • Collects require information to draft responses to the letters received from the Contractors and coordinate review with various stakeholders.

  • Support Contract Administrator or Contract Manager in document control of the contract management documentation.

  • Supports preparation of periodic status and ad-hoc reports and performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Production and Operations Management, or Logistics Management from an accredited college or university within the past 12 months or anticipate obtaining a degree within the next year.

  • Possess the eligibility to work and remain in Canada without sponsorship.

  • Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed relevant coursework

  • Previous co-op or internship experience

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
