As Data Scientist you will apply and integrate statistical, mathematical, predictive modeling and business analytical skills to manage and manipulate complex, high-volume data from a variety of sources. Along with building and maintaining the production execution of Data Science into enterprise systems and architecture.
Location: You will be based in our Toronto office and will work in a hybrid model.
Reporting Relationship : You will report to the Director, Data Science and Development.
Your Moneris Career - What you'll do
Monitor and deploy within the production data science environment using best practices, pipeline controls, and clear documentation around intent and usage of model or algorithm.
Design and construct predictive models to enhance understanding of Moneris core business and adjacent opportunities.
Design and implement solutions that can measurably improve our performance in the business context.
Partner with data engineering and data analytics teams to ensure that data structures and data pipeline enhances data science applications and shortens development cycle.
Use statistical techniques to increase accuracy for existing projects and create solutions for adoption in business context knowingly increase performance.
Lead in tuning and refining the deployment of models in different environments ensuring that the business context matches the performance of the model and that the cost of running aligns with the need.
Collaborate with different teams to promote structured pipeline deployment of data science to ensure consistency, security, resiliency of the system.
Collaborate with business teams in the centre of excellence on data science sharing best practice, new approaches, and successes
Build business and technical understanding to enhance solution development and create opportunities to enhance business processes and overall performance.
Your Moneris Career - What you bring
Master's degree in in a quantitative field required, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 3 years' experience in analytics, data science or machine learning.
Solid hands-on experience in data science or advanced analytics
Solid experience in Advanced predictive modelling, Machine learning and AI
Proficient in Python, SQL, Py Spark
Experience in Feature engineering
Experience in production data science pipeline management and deployment of models in a production environment.
Experience working in cloud Environment like Azure
Proficient in leading large-scale projects or project steps and communicating progress/approach with technical/non-technical peers/clients and leaders.
Power BI, Tableau (considered an asset)
Experience in Data warehousing technologies i.e.: Snowflake (considered an asset)
Knowledge or exposure to data management, governance, and data design (considered an asset)
