Job Summary
Barrett Industries is currently looking for aTerminal Supervisor in its Entry Level Rotation Program. This exciting, new program will allow a participant to have experiences in Liquid Asphalt Plant Operations at multiple locations across the Northeast. After successfully completing 24-36 months of training and mentorship, a fixed position will be assigned. This is an Entry Level position with a minimum starting salary of $70,000. This program is designed to give participants a chance to learn the operations at each rotation. The rotation schedule is set to look like this: Midland Asphalt (NY and PA) 12 months; Strawser Construction (Ohio) 12 months. After completion of the first 24 months, participants will be placed according to business needs.
Main Responsibilities
Work with the local Plant teams and learn to:
Operate a polymer modified asphalt and emulsion mill
Load and unload rail cars of liquid asphalt
Understand flow rates, pumps, and valves
Conduct general plant maintenance
Work with the local management team in the following areas:
Production Efficiencies
Inventory Management
Plant Maintenance and Projects
Capital Expenditure Projects
Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives
Learn the applicable software programs
Environmental Regulations
In addition, the participant in this program will learn about the entire road construction business and how it relates to plant operations; including but not limited to:
Estimating/Bidding
Construction Operations
Quality Assurance/Quality Control
Safety
Finance
Leadership Skills
Experience and Qualifications
Recent college graduate or upcoming graduate in mechanical, industrial engineering or, a related field.
Must be able to have geographic mobility during the program between NYS, OH and PA (housing assistance will be provided as needed)
Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
Effective math, verbal, written, and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Proficient computer skills
High degree of drive and a willingness to learn
Must adhere to all safety regulations
Must be able to lift 65 pounds and climb stairs
