We are currently seeking to fill the following position for ourBuffalolocation.
Supplier Quality Engineer
The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for working closely with Suppliers, Project Management, Procurement, and Quality to ensure external suppliers meet the required quality standards. [SE1] [MK2] Conduct assessments of new suppliers, potential new suppliers, and existing suppliers for manufacturing capabilities and quality programs including conducting site visits, supplier audits, and desk audits.
Responsibilities:
Work with cross-functional teams to qualify new suppliers to ensure they can achieve all technical and regulatory requirements.
Support new product launches to ensure supplier quality achieves expected results.
Provide technical guidance, training, and support to suppliers related to quality and inspection requirements, process changes, and other issues that arise.
Act as liaison between KTC and suppliers to communicate and resolve nonconformities and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Facilitate the supplier corrective action process including:
- Identify supplier quality and process issues
Assist suppliers in root cause analysis
Perform on-site corrective action verification
Document results and report to Management
Performance Monitoring:
- Evaluate supplier delivery and product conformity performance
Communicate supplier performance through use of scorecards and other reporting
Report on supplier performance to KTC Management
Work with a cross-functional team to conduct periodic business reviews with critical suppliers
Maintain all supporting records such as audit reports, supplier corrective actions, supplier performance reporting, supplier quality surveys, and the supplier database.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
Qualifications
Skills and Experience:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong Root Cause Analysis skills
Skilled in process auditing to ISO 9001:2015, ASME Code experience a plus
Skilled in implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong knowledge of quality and business systems as well as manufacturing processes
Ability to read, interpret, and communicate expectations regarding blueprints and specifications
Experience in inspection methods and their appropriate use for accurate data collection and analysis
Experience with Microsoft Office
Engages interest and participation of others and has a collaborative approach to working with others
Travel:
Domestic and International travel required (<25%)
Education:
Minimum of a 2 year degree required, Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other related field preferred
