Job Overview:
RWJBH Behavioral Health Center is seeking a MSW/LSW to work in the inpatient units providing psychosocial assessments, group therapy, treatment planning, and discharge planning to adult patients who are experiencing behavioral health issues. The candidate will be a member of an interdisciplinary team including Psychiatrists, Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, and Adjunct Therapist.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Master s Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university
Preferred:
- Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC)
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- Licensed by the New Jersey Board of Social Workers
Scheduling Requirements:
Shift working, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Monday - Friday
Full-Time
Essential Functions:
Provides family counseling session whenever possible or clinically indicated
Participates in monthly Social Work meetings with the Director of Inpatient Social Services
Participates in and assists in the development of the interdisciplinary treatment planning process
Short term counseling; to assist patient in identifying adaptive means of coping through individual and group therapy
Reviews discharge planning options and evaluates alternatives with patient and their significant others to enhance their acceptance of plans
Establishes rapport with family or significant other whenever possible or clinically indicated
Involve patient s family or significant other in formulator
Implements the policies and procedures of the Behavioral Health facility
Performs interventions in accordance with current policy and procedure
Safety guidelines and infection control principles
Facilitates access to community agencies by providing referrals and information to patients
Their significant others, community agencies and other community members advocating for patients when necessary
Intervenes with patients and their significant others to enhance their intervenes with patients and their significant others to enhance their ability to cope with mental illness,
Hospitalization; post-hospital care needs, and lifestyle changes
Assesses patient's psychological social, medical and substance abuse issues through direct patient interview or interview/ contact with patients' significant others with respect to their current needs to establish appropriate post-program care plans and any services that may be necessary while patient is in treatment
Other duties as assigned
