TOMAH HEALTH Heath Unit Coordinator (HUC) / Tech in TOMAH, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Tomah Memorial Hospital EOE POSITION DETAILS Part-time with Benefits; 48 hours in the two week pay period; varied 12hr shifts but primarily nights(7p-7a or 7a-7p)with holiday rotation. Weekenders cover the weekends,no set weekend rotation but needto be willing to assist when a weekender is on their one weekend offper 6 months or due to staffing changes. Starting pay no less than #\$18.50 per hour but will go higher based on credentials and experience; shift differentials range from \$2.00 to \$5.50 more per hour based on day of the week and time of day. JOB SUMMARY As a HUC: The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) provides organizational, receptionist and clerical support to the care of patients presenting to Emergency Department under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Independent Practitioner (L.I.P.) within their scope of care. The HUC functions as a resource to members of the healthcare team as well as patients and visitors, is familiar with multiple Tomah Health resources and plays an integral role in communication across the continuum of care. As an ED Tech: Completes tasks that support the care of patients presenting to Emergency Department under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Independent Practitioner (L.I.P.) within their scope of care. Provides care by utilizing specific skills and procedures following a competency based orientation directly related to education preparation. MAJOR JOB FUNCTION - HUC Maintains an organized and businesslike environment at the nursing station in order to assist members of the health care team in the performance of their jobs despite high stress factors. Participates in health care planning to meet the total needs of patients. Assists in admission, transfer and discharge process of patient utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
