This opening provides an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our growing Landfill Engineering team. Although a preferred location would be in one of our Ohio office locations , other accommodations can be considered, based on experience and project development opportunities. As a Senior Project Manager, you will join our multi-disciplinary project teams as we develop and implement solutions to complex problems and materials management needs. You will work with an established team that works on varied solid waste management-related activities including planning, design and permitting, construction QA/QC and certification, operational assistance, closure, and beneficial use/harvesting at municipal, industrial and power generation facilities. You will be responsible for developing proposals, interfacing with clients and regulatory agencies, and mentoring/guiding other professionals. Responsibilities:

  • Lead safety culture within project teams, including following safety protocols for all projects and visiting project sites

  • Develop strategy, scope of work, and budgets for projects;

  • Manage large projects including complex projects involving multidisciplinary teams

  • Perform and oversee the completion of complex technical research, calculations, modeling, design, and report writing for completion of assigned tasks or projects

  • Develop and maintain client and regulatory relationships as primary or secondary client contact for projects

  • Oversee, mentor, and provide work assignments to project team members

  • Track work progress relative to project schedules and budgets utilizing company project management software

  • Maintain overall project quality consistent with company and professional standards

  • Perform final peer review prior to product delivery

  • Interact with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders while considering what information to provide, when and with appropriate internal or client review

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution

  • 10 to 15 years of relevant experience with civil and waste management projects. Advanced degree and/or cooperative education may count toward experience

  • Registered PE in Ohio or other Verdantas locations

  • Proven ability to manage projects, site development, permitting, design, and construction quality assurance/quality control, including acting as an Engineer-of-Record or Certifying Engineer

  • Significant experience in landfill and waste management engineering is a requirement. Familiarity with RCRA, Subtitle C, and Subtitle D regulations for design and permitting of municipal, industrial, and/or coal combustion residual facilities preferred
