ProMedica Health System ITS Epic Analyst (III) – Reporting - Full Time - Days in Toledo, Ohio

The ITS Epic Analyst (I, II, III) – Reporting typically reports to the Lead, Supervisor, Manager or Director and has no direct reports.

POSITION SUMMARY Participates in planning, design, development, training, implementation, communication, maintenance/support, and evaluation of existing or new functionality related to assigned applications. Analysts supporting Epic will have or obtain Epic Certification in their primary application within three months of employment or transition to ITS. Obtaining and maintaining Epic Certification in primary and supporting applications is a mandatory job requirement unless exemption is granted.

Analyst III - Serves at a high level, experience and expertise demonstrated in all areas, can function as a Project Manager if assigned. Participates in selection/design, implementation, maintenance, and support of their assigned software applications using information technology, equipment, and processes used by ProMedica employees and customers. Serves as mentor and escalation path for less experienced IT staff, providing assistance when required and reviewing their work as directed.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise

  1. Planning/Design: a. Participates with technical teams and vendors for the design of application infrastructure, hardware, storage, network requirements, security, integrations, viewing and workflow.

  2. Development/Build:

a. Plans implementations and upgrades clinical systems.

  1. Testing:

a. Ensures adequate testing, quality assurance and documentation of changes.

b. Ensure test scripts have been created, reviewed, updated to reflect proposed workflow solutions.

  1. Training/Certifications:

a. Transfers knowledge and/or trains IT employees and advises end-users in the operation of their information systems. Maintains complete and current documentation for responsible systems and IT processes.

b. Support the training team by keeping trainers informed of new functionality and system changes.

c. Maintains required certifications.

  1. Implementation:

a. Responsible for the activities like analysis and development, implementation, modification, and installation of low complexity systems in different operational environments.

b. Implement changes using documented procedures.

  1. Communication:

a. Create and follow project plans.

b. Participate in team and cross-team meetings and maintain appropriate meeting records.

c. Communicates with customers, administration, and team members about information technology and services.

d. Understand customer feedback and support data to optimize and resolve issues.

e. Attends regular customer and team department meetings as scheduled.

  1. Maintenance/Support:

a. Monitors system performance and quality.

b. Plans for decommission of responsible applications when indicated.

c. Ensure solutions are cost effective, audit and security compliant. Versions are no less than -2 from current.

d. Support 24/7 on call on rotational basis. e. Some travel may be required.

  1. Other duties as assigned. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience upon hire.

Skills: Exceptional knowledge of assigned clinical software applications and healthcare operations. Strong self-motivation, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Advanced SQL developer, showing the ability to query different database environments with a full understanding in clinical, access, or revenue cycle areas. Ability to lead team and demonstrate and transfer pertinent knowledge/skills for all the analytical tools needed to be effective. Previous healthcare information technology experience with proven success.

Years of Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience.

Certification: Applicable Epic certification. Maintenance of Epic Certification in the primary application is a mandatory job requirement. Obtaining and maintenance of a secondary or supporting Epic Certification will be at the discretion of leadership.

REFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Master’s degree or 3 years' experience in Information Technology.

Skills: IT background, Effective oral, written communication, and follow-up skills. Strong interpersonal relationship skills. Task management and problem-solving skills expected. Project management and leadership experience desired. Deep understanding & experience using analytical tools like Tableau and Power BI. Strong desktop tool usage including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, problem solver.

Years of Experience: 7+ years of applicable business or healthcare experience desirable.

Certification: Multiple Epic certifications
