ProMedica Health System Fire Alarm System Technician - Centralized Facilities Management - Full Time - Days in Toledo, Ohio
The Fire Alarm Technician maintains and repairs the fire alarms systems in the Centralized Facilities department. Ensures all systems are working properly and documents problems as needed. During routine testing will oversee non-certified technicians. Adheres to all associated regulatory agencies. Actively participates in the creation of an environment that fosters patient, family, physician, and staff satisfaction.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise
Perform NFPA 72 based inspections of fire alarm systems and components of those systems: includes equipment such as panels, annunciators, printers, smoke detectors, duct smoke and heat detectors, pull stations, electro-mechanical devices (dampers, doors, etc.), audio/visual notification devices (horns, strobes, etc.), etc. Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs of fire alarm systems – including replacing system components when applicable. Maintain proper inspection reports and utilize work order system. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education: High School diploma or GED
Skills: Must have thorough knowledge of NFPA codes and standards.
Years of Experience: 0-3 years
License: Must obtain/possess a current Ohio Fire Alarm license within one (1) year of employment, valid driver’s license in good standing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills: Work order entry systems, inspection report completion, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
Years of Experience: 3-5 years
License: Masters electrician license or NICET II in fire alarm systems
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands: Requires full body motion, ability to perform work while bending, stooping, stretching, climbing ladders; requires dexterity and strength sufficient to operate required tools and machinery; typically required to lift carry machinery and/or equipment weighing 25 to 100lbs and/or assist with weights exceeding 100lbs. Requires color acuity sufficient to distinguished colorcoded signage and systems. Position will/may be multi-site located to provide site’s support along with system responsibilities. Must be able to travel within ProMedica Health System
