Amazon.co.jp is looking for an innovative HR Business Partner (HRBP) to drive organizational success through expert HR guidance, working closely with the business leaders in Tokyo headquarters.

The primary responsibility involves collaborating closely with business leaders and their teams to provide impactful insights that advance the people and organizational agenda. In this role, the HRBP transforms business priorities into actionable organizational initiatives, skillfully combining visionary thinking with practical operational proficiency.

Key job responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders and the HR team to champion organizational and people focused initiatives, spanning talent management, organization design, workforce planning, succession planning, and skills assessment and development.

• Provide impactful management coaching to business leaders to and senior managers.

• Demonstrate analytical capabilities and influence business partners through compelling data-driven recommendations.

• Partner with global HR teams to support business unit initiatives and contribute to global HR initiatives.

• Drive HR projects and key initiatives in collaboration with global and local HR teams.

Basic Qualifications

• Demonstrates strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and analytical acuity.

• Proficient in influencing business leaders through skillful navigation of ambiguous situations using strategic planning and effective project management

• Exhibits excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills across diverse counterparts at all levels and geographical locations

• Holds a university degree

• Fluent proficiency in both Japanese and English, encompassing both written and spoken.

• Displays the ability to hire, assess and develop outstanding individuals.

• Serves as a role model for our leadership principles and champions inclusiveness.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA, Master degree is preferred.

• Project management and execution expertise

• Demonstrated agility in thriving within fast-paced and innovative environments.

• Have the agility to function in a fast paced and innovative environment.

• Over 8 years of experience as an HR business partner/leader with diverse businesses.

• Proven track record in high-tech, entrepreneurial settings, requiring strong multitasking abilities.
