Job Responsibilities include:

  • Expertise collecting, analyzing and managing quantitative data and creating meaningful reports to drive business improvement and cost reductions

  • Root cause analysis and uncovering core issues using data, then assisting the Fulfillment Center improve and create new measures for site productivity

  • Recommend, develop, and implement policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and profitability

  • Lead the development of all weekly and monthly financial close, all planning, forecasting, and reporting models and their continuous innovation and improving the use and ease of interpretation by your Operations partners

  • Work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, automated and timely

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities & providing level-headed guidance during unexpected events

Key job responsibilities

●Ability to travel; 10% travel expected, primarily to local operations

A day in the life

The fulfillment center office is steps away from the Gemba, where you will gain a deep understanding of fulfillment operations, including cutting edge warehouse technology. On any given day, you may be helping your business partners assess the financial impacts of a new initiative or project, developing financial plans which guide the future development of Amazon, or exploring your own ideas in how to drive improvements at the FCs.

About the team

Japan fulfillment center finance is a diverse team of financial analysts and mangers, female and male, who hail from several countries, including Japan, USA, Korea, Taiwan, China. We come from many different academic and career backgrounds--engineering, business and finance, the arts, etc. Both English and Japanese are spoken regularly in our team.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree

  • 3+ years of related experience

  • Business level of both Japanese and English language skill (reading, writing, speaking)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey complex information in an effective way

  • Proven ability to solve complex problems using data and metrics.

  • Proven ability to develop strategic relationships with business partners.

  • Superb attention to details and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of Tableau

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Six Sigma Black Belt
