Supply chain of books industry in JP is in the turning point where industry is changing and there are abundant opportunities to make improvements for our customers. Especially there are opportunities to leverage advanced technologies such as machine learning models to automate multiple aspects of supply chain.

Key job responsibilities

We are seeking a dynamic and organized self-starter to join as a Product Manager to join our team. You will work on driving key initiatives to improve product selection and availability, margins and revenue. This unique role will be responsible for all aspects of developing strategy, planning & implementing initiatives to unlock value propositions for our customers. This includes but not limited to demand forecast, sourcing and inventory planning. This is a senior role with a complex range of products and projects simultaneously. The role also carries a lot of ambiguity and you should be able to prioritize and deliver projects in a constraint environment. You must be fearless but thoughtful in the pursuit of results and thrive in a high energy environment where tactical and strategic activities are expected to be driven in parallel. You must be able to lead and influence both internal and external teams to solve ambiguous problems while maintaining a customer-centric philosophy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work backward from customer’s needs/pain points and translate them into business requirements

  • Diving deep into internal and external data to understand Supply Chain gaps within Amazon

  • Create and execute innovative and automated Supply Chain mechanisms and products that can scale locally and worldwide

  • Work with tech teams and other internal stakeholders in Japan and around the world to develop new customer experiences for growing Japan Book business

  • Develop and improve key metrics to improve the performance of our selection funnel

  • Be accountable in internal business performance reviews with senior leaders to identify and deliver necessary improvements

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with end to end product delivery

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience as a product manager or owner

  • Experience owning technology products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights

  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders
