Amazon Security and Compliance Specialist in Tokyo, Japan

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a seasoned Compliance and Security representative in Japan to help us establish AWS as the market leader for security services that address our customers' needs.

AWS is looking for an independent, passionate, and deeply experienced Compliance and Security professional to provide thought leadership in assisting customers in Japan with their use cases, including moving data and regulated workloads to the cloud by addressing their specific security, regulatory, compliance and governance requirements. This candidate should be an experienced and innovative security/compliance/governance professional who has the ability to handle a wide range of compliance requirements and translate the requirements into applications for cloud computing and supporting customer use cases. The Compliance and Security Specialist will work directly with customers and partners in adapting their frameworks and architectures to successfully move their IT and more complex strategic workloads to the AWS cloud or build and deploy their solutions using AWS services.

This key position requires specialized experience supporting compliance efforts and will have high visibility at the most senior levels of AWS, its customers, government agencies, and institutions, including frequent interaction with CISOs, CTOs, CCOs, CROs, their staffs, and AWS senior leadership. The candidate will already have, and continue to foster, key relationships, and be able to interpret the impacts of policy changes, track and report on industry trends, and drive a comprehensive global automotive compliance strategy.

Key job responsibilities

• Drive and execute compliance and security strategy as part of AWS sales team and work across Amazon teams, where appropriate.

• Participate in regulatory compliance assessments and relevant control discussions with AWS teams. This includes synthesizing control requirements, and recommending and pursuing alternative approaches assisting customers in developing compliance roadmaps.

• Develop industry-leading compliance and security resources (internal and customer-facing) based on current demands and projected customer needs.

• Develop and maintain relationships with key leaders in governance, risk, and compliance in Japan.

• Execute tactical development plans while working with internal stakeholders including compliance specialists, security assurance, public policy, business development managers, sales teams, solution architects, professional services and support teams, legal and contract teams, and AWS service teams.

• Build best practice to help AWS customers in Japan to build and operate their applications in a secure, compliant, agile, and cost-effective manner.

• Drive revenue and adoption of native security services such as Amazon GuardDuty, Amazon Inspector, Amazon Macie, AWS Key Management Service, and other AWS security service offerings as a result of implementing the best practice of security operations among customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in cloud technology compliance, legal, governance, audit, consulting, or working with regulatory bodies

  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence C-level executives, Government Officials, and Auditors.

  • Direct field experience in Security, Identity, Edge and Compliance Security products or services

  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross-functional audiences

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations

Preferred Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record that enables them to lead a sales effort that incorporates teaming with local AWS sales representatives, solutions architects, and partners

  • Demonstrated ability to work across a matrixed, cross-functional team

  • Be comfortable with ambiguity and curious to learn new skills
