The Coca-Cola Company Microbiologist in Tokyo, Japan

We are looking for an experienced microbiologist to oversee and manage all microbiological activities within our laboratory, contributing to the highest standards of quality and safety in product development and manufacturing. What You'll Do for Us

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Suppliers and production, to support product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Continuously seek insights on industry trends and technology that will further enhance our organization's value proposition and performance.

  • Lead and maintain the laboratory management system.

  • Manage laboratory instruments and operating budget including maintenance and calibrations.

  • Provide guidance and training in a supervisory capacity to junior members in the team

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A minimum of a master's degree in microbiology or a related field. A Ph.D. in Microbiology is preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in microbiology in R&D, quality assurance or laboratory work for a leading food or manufacturing company.

  • Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with advancements in the field of microbiology.

  • Knowledge for Food thermal process, Beverage processing, Disinfectant and Quality management systems, such as HACCP, and ISO are preferable.

  • Possesses experience in factual-based root cause analysis and problem-solving, with a strong commitment to maintaining quality.

  • Fluent in Japanese and English (written and verbal) is required so as to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams who are conversant only in either of the language
