Nike Lead Business HR Manager, Japan in Tokyo, Japan

Who you’ll work with

As Lead Business HR Manager for Japan reporting into the HR Director, you will partner with the Leaders of the Japan Leadership Team (JLT) and their teams to drive high performance across Nike’s functions in Japan. You will play a critical role to lead, shape and disrupt culture to drive transformative and operational business outcomes in an already high performing team.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking an innovative HR practitioner who has the capability to drive organizational effectiveness outcomes while providing trusted advice to stakeholders.

Ideally, we are seeking candidates with:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in an HR business partnering role or HR Generalist role, ideally in the retail industry with a working knowledge of the regulatory landscape.

  • Experience in areas like organizational development, talent acquisition and management, L&D, total rewards and employee relations.

  • Proven mindset and interpersonal skills to work in a matrix environment to implement, leverage, and improve HR initiatives, systems, policies, and procedures.

  • Proven ability to calmly, confidently, and confidentially engage with leaders and HR Center of Excellence to address opportunities and needs.

  • Experience in HR metrics and data to story-tell and provide decision support.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills (in Japanese and English).

What you’ll work on

In partnership with the HR Director and HR matrix partners, you’ll seek to understand business priorities and pain points. Through your own observations, and workforce data and trends, you’ll translate your insights into compelling consulting advice and services to make an impact.

  • As a trusted advisor, you’ll provide expert advice and coaching to leaders to drive workforce labor plans, talent management and performance outcomes.

  • As a culture ambassador, you’ll actively define and participate in DE&I initiatives that showcase Nike’s progressive culture of belonging.

  • As a change agent, you’ll role model the new HR operating model and systems and support the business through restructuring as required.

  • You’ll work alongside Employee Relations and other specialist teams to resolve employee queries and issues as appropriate.
