Amazon Business (AB) is a B2B marketplace platform that serves companies, educational institutions, healthcare organizations, and government agencies. AB combines Amazon's consumer marketplace efficiency with features specifically designed for business customers, including bulk pricing, business-only pricing, and quantity discounts. Finance professionals in Amazon Business focus on corporate customer acquisition costs, contract pricing optimization, and B2B-specific metrics and customer purchasing patterns. A significant growth area is the expansion of AB's enterprise capabilities, competing with traditional B2B distributors while leveraging Amazon's logistics network and technology infrastructure.
Join the JP AB Finance team and help us set the strategy that will accelerate growth for years to come. This is a strategic business partnership role that requires builder mentality, and will need to influence senior leaders on decision making through development of success metric and business insights. The successful candidate will need to be capable of building bespoke financial models that enable an understanding of incremental growth, profitability, and ROI of newly launched programs and features. You will own the topline forecast for a $1B+ business, play an integral part in driving core business inputs and partner with business and tech leaders to evaluate trade-offs and prioritization of resource investment. The position will report to AB Finance Head in Japan.
Key job responsibilities
• Act as a finance partner working directly with Amazon Business leadership, supporting one or more Country and/or Sales segments.
• Lead the financial planning and analysis processes with metrics and data insights for financial risks, opportunities, and investment decisions.
• Lead the preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual business performance reviews.
• Develop, report, and analyse key input metrics that support team goals.
• Influence business decisions with effective verbal and written communication, data driven analysis and modelling, and presentation of options and alternatives.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
7+ years in multiple finance, accounting, audit, and/or related analytical fields
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving
Proficiency in Excel (index, conditional list, pivots, lookups) and experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel
Business level English skills
Preferred Qualifications
Business communication level in Japanese
