Amazon Engagement Content Marketing Manager, JP Marketing in Tokyo, Japan

Description

JP Marketing is seeking an experienced and driven Engagement Content Marketing Manager to join our Category & Channel Marketing team. This role is responsible for developing and executing successful channel strategies in Paid Social Media and Outbound/Email, conducting structured tests, rolling out successful campaigns, and optimizing performance against clear goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of online marketing, proven experience in setting up marketing tests and analyzing results, and a track record of driving substantial results in areas such as B2C branding, customer acquisition, lead generation, and revenue generation, specifically through large-scale advertising programs.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop deep channel insights and understanding in partnership with retail teams, other marketing channel teams, and international stakeholders.

• Develop content strategies, research trending topics and produce exceptional content to creation valuable, helpful content and storytelling.

• Translate channel insights into test plans, product/feature proposals, and opportunities for optimization.

• Define and run tests, including A/B experiments to test new vendor features and/or inform new product development.

• Conduct in-depth analyses to specifically geared towards moving customers along the buyer's journey.

• Translate analytical findings into actionable insights and concise business actions and recommendations.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketers, creative producers, product managers, engineers, finance, and analytics, to drive strategic initiatives.

The Category & Channel Growth Marketing team manage a variety of programs, both paid and free, that generate sales and customer growth for Amazon Japan. Across critical categories that are under-penetrated on Amazon Japan and channels: including Search (SEM/SEO), Creators (Affiliates and Influencers), social media, Outbound (Email and Push Notification) and Mobile Ads. On the technology side, this team leads fundamental improvements to in-house ML targeting and bidding platforms underpinning the various marketing channels as well as JP expansion of global new marketing tech initiatives and automation to drive scale of their operations. This team is expected to create growth strategies across a range of product families, while also propose and drive change to operating models that enable agile innovation cycles and customer insight improvements to better serve the Japanese customer in their shopping journey.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

  • Experience building and optimizing multiple, simultaneous marketing campaigns

  • Experience managing or working within cross-functional marketing and creative teams

  • Experience with brand strategy

  • Fluency both in Japanese and English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience equally comfortable building strategic marketing plans and executing at a tactical level

  • Experience in digital marketing and content production timelines and process
