Microsoft Corporation Channel Operation Manager in Tokyo, Japan

The mission of Microsoft Devices Supply Chain (DSC) organization is to ensure the right products are in the right place at the right time with maximum efficiency in process and costs by managing the end-to-end supply chain of Microsoft’s physical products such as Xbox, Surface, Accessories, and several other innovative products.

In DSC organization, Channel Operations Manager (COM) role is to drive the business from supply chain perspective in align with DSC mission together with cross-functional and cross-border teams. Our stakeholders are not limited to DSC, but COM also works closely with internal sales, marketing, and finance teams as well as external distributors, resellers, and retailers to manage the end-to-end supply chain operations from demand planning, inbound tracking, order management, delivery arrangements, to post sales in order to achieve financial and company targets while helping partners and customers meet their goals. And for both internal and external stakeholders, COM is the first point of contact for any inquiries which are related to Microsoft physical products such as quality, invoicing, and contracts.

The ideal candidate must have a solid acumen in end-to-end supply chain operations with Japan Retail partner and have a proven track record of managing internal and external stakeholders to achieve business goals. Strong verbal and written communication skills, leadership, and data analyzing skills are also necessary to make a right impact on the business.

Responsibilities

T his position will:

  • Manage the order to cash process of Microsoft physical products sold in Japan working with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Create weekly level demand plan of each SKU with subsidiary teams in align with revenue targets and manage both Microsoft and partners’ inventory at appropriate level.

  • Track inbounds from factory, make allocation/proposal to partners, manage their orderbook, ensure the deliveries to their warehouses through close alignment with regional/global supply chain, sales, marketing, finance, and external partners.

  • Lead subsidiary S&OP meetings to track the variance between plan and actual, recognize deals pipeline, give and get market insights, share supply outlook.

  • Manage product lifecycle from launch planning to end of life inventory depletion.

  • Collect and analyze the data of sales and inventory of partners as well as market insights to maintain optimal stock position not to have any opportunity loss or excess inventory.

  • Secure resources and make necessary improvements through regional/global projects to enhance the customer and partner experience.

  • Be the first point of contact for any inquiries which are related to Microsoft physical products such as quality, invoicing, and contracts.

  • Oversee process compliance in contracts and laws.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Information Technology, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field. MBA is a plus.

  • Minimum 6 years ofwork experience in end-to-endsupply chain operations with firm track records in demand planning, S&OP management, inventory management, product lifecycle management, project management with cross-functional and cross-border teams, and internal and external process digitization.Work experience in Japan Retail partner facing role is preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills both in English and Japanese.

  • Analytical/statistical skills to suggest improvement as well as knowledge in BI software for data.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office, relational databases and ERP systems (e.g. SAP)

  • Work experience of managing large retail accounts’ inventory can be considered as a plus.
