Oracle Business Finance (Financial Planning & Analysis) in TOKYO, Japan

Job Description

Financial support to business areas through financial analysis, budgeting, planning & forecasting; to facilitate decision making and future business strategies.As a member of Oracle's finance organization, you will be responsible for providing all aspects of financial support for planning and control. Assist in consolidation and reporting of financial results; preparation of annual budget. Gather, model, analyze, prepare, and summarize information for financial plans, operating forecasts, trended future specifications, etc.; on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis. Prepares recommendations based on analyzes. May perform revenue and expense analysis, headcount and headcount driven expense analysis at cost center level, tracking of product and product line revenue, reconciliation of accounts receivable, variance analysis and ad-hoc analysis as needed. You may participate in cross functional programs and projects.Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Strong Microsoft Office skills and proficiency in Oracle Financials. Strong analysis and research skills. Ability to partner across functions. 8 years relevant work experience. BS/BA in Accounting/Finance preferred. CPA/MBA desired.

Responsibilities

Business Support: 60%

  • Proactively support the sales leader as a business partner for financial queries. Work with Operations and Finance teams for issue resolution . Develops effective working relationships and collaborates with business to meet their requirements (35%)

  • Work with business team in the development of business plans/budgets and monitoring the execution of the business plans & budgets (10%)

  • Support in compensation matters Sales rep quota deployment analysis / performance monitoring / head count key performance indicators (5%)

  • Support business team in analyzing fina ncials for new sales program/marketing events/investment program analysis and monitoring (5%)

  • Assist special projects (M&A / Systems roll outs/ System upgrades/etc.) including assisting with business and / or operations initiatives (5%)

Financial Analysis: 40%

  • Budgeting, forecasting, analysis of P/L trends (quarter on quarter/year on year for revenue / expense. Strategic and operational financial analysis with highlights shared with senior management for corrective action(20%)

  • Coordinate / Review / Analyze / Provide commentary / Distribute standard and ad hoc financial reports (weekly/monthly/ quarterly/annually) (10%)

  • Review forecast number s (revenue / expense) in financial database (updated by offshore support team) to ensure accuracy (5%)

  • Build financial models for budgets/new products/proforma financial statements/business cases (5%)

Personal & Interpersonal Competencies

  • Proven track record of thriving and delivering high quality results in a fast paced under short time pressures. Re engineers processes as required

  • Good communicator ( verbal and written ) able to summarize and clearly articulate issues and analysis

  • Strong team player able to leverage offshore contacts ( Bangalore , India / other regions / HQ to resolve issues in a timely manner to meet business expectations

  • Creative and out of the box thinking as well as good problem solving skills

  • Flexible in adapting and driving change in areas of influence. Obtain buy in From affected stake holders to implement required changes

  • Introduces controls into processes including reviewing and analyzing financial to identify potential issues

SKILLS:

  • Qualifications: MBA or CPA qualification helpful

  • Experience in a financial analysis role / experience with budgeting, forecasting,reporting and analysis

  • Comfort able in reviewing and explaining trends in a business’s P&L

  • Experience creating and presenting executive PowerPoint presentations

  • Advanced level Excel
