Job Description
The person holding this position assists in administration and enforcement of wage and hour laws assigned to the department by investigating, documenting, informal settlement discussions or recommending enforcement action on complaints filed with the department pursuant to the Payment of Wages and Fringe Benefits Act, Youth Employment Standards Act, Michigan's minimum wage law the Improved Workforce Opportunity Wage Act, the Paid Medical Leave Act ,Prevailing Wage on State Funded Construction Projects, and the Human Trafficking Notification Act. The person holding this position is responsible for timely and accurate management of a caseload, including but not limited to system entries, written virtual, electronic communications, in person contacts, and participating in case hearings.

The official workstation for this position will be the successful candidate’s home. However, this is a field position that requires daily/frequent travel within the position’s primary coverage area in Region 2 – Oakland, Genessee, and Saginaw Counties
WRITING ASSIGNMENT:The ability to manage multiple case files involving a variety of issues in a timely manner is essential to this position. This will require the candidate to be extremely organized, possess investigative and customer service skills, be a quick learner, and make decisions without immediate supervision. The successful candidate must also be self-starting, able to prioritize tasks, set goals, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in business administration, criminal justice, criminology, law enforcement, police administration, security and loss prevention, or a related field.
