Job Title: Machinist

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating various CNC machines, including both mill and lathe machines, in a job shop environment. This role involves working with large CNC machines, performing tooling changes, and reading blueprints. The Machinist will use measuring tools and work with tight tolerances. Experience with G&M codes, MasterCAM, and Solidworks is essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various CNC machines, including mill and lathe machines.

• Perform tooling changes every shift.

• Read blueprints and use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

• Work with tolerances of +/- 0.001.

• Edit programs at the machine using G&M codes.

• Utilize MasterCAM and Solidworks for programming.

• Operate manual machines and grinders as needed.

• Work with materials including low carbon, alloy tool steels.

Work Environment

We have 6 total openings, with 2 positions available on each shift. The shifts are as follows: First Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday; Second Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM, Monday – Friday with shift premiums; Third Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Sunday – Thursday with shift premiums. Our facility is an older building with a lot of history, providing a unique and engaging work environment. We manufacture custom machines for various industries. Shift premiums are 12.5% for the second shift and 7.5% for the third shift.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $79560.00/hr.

• Overtime after 8 hours in a shift - Double time at 45 hours - Saturdays are primarily voluntary OT

• Benefits include: 401k with company match, health, dental vision benefits, 3 personal days, paid sick leave, life insurance

• No time clocks. On what we call an “honor system” when it comes to keeping track of time.

• Medical, dental, vision benefits start day one.

• 20 weeks of paid sick time over 24 months. This is 100% pay for time missed such as a sick day or a leave of absence.

• Vacation is based on industry experience.

• 401k match starts at day 90 but you can start to contribute day one. Fidelity is the plan sponsor.
