Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Assistant in Thousand Palms, California

Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Assistant in the transport industry, located in Thousand Palms, California. The HR Assistant will be tasked with managing leave paperwork, preparing and mailing documents to employees, and tracking work status. Additionally, the role involves processing injury reports and communicating with various departments regarding the status of employees on leave.

Responsibilities:

• Receive, record, review, and process all leave paperwork, ensuring all documentation is comprehensive and accurate

• Prepare and mail necessary documents to employees regarding their leave status

• Maintain a thorough record of employee information in an Excel sheet, including when employees go on leave and return to work

• Set up files for leaves of absence, ensuring all necessary paperwork is correctly filed and easily accessible

• Receive, review, and process injury reports for worker's compensation, including entering data into the TPA's claims portal

• Communicate with the TPA regarding incidents, including requesting video of the incident when available

• Track work status, log follow-up visits, and pull work status reports from the provider's portal

• Communicate with the employee's department regarding the status of employees on leave or with industrial injuries

• Manage all tasks related to leave and incident management, ensuring all processes are completed efficiently and effectively

• Utilize skills in Benefit Functions, Compliance, Employee Relations, Leave of Absence, Worker's Compensation Claim, Workers Compensation, Workers Comp Law, and Microsoft Excel to perform duties effectively. Requirements • Demonstrable experience in the Human Resources (HR) field within the Transport industry

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Comprehensive knowledge of compliance regulations in the transport industry

• Experience in handling Benefit Functions and Employee Relations

• Familiarity with Leave of Absence procedures and policies

• Knowledge of Worker's Compensation Claim processing

• Understanding of Workers Compensation and Workers Comp Law

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred.
