Samples Assistant

Weigh, mix, pack and label sample flavours according to specific recipes and by following operational procedures and adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Liaise with the Samples Manager and/or Samples Planner to collect a formula (recipe) required to prepare a specified quantity of a special powder mix which has been previously developed by a technologist

• Study the formula and bring together all the necessary ingredients from the appropriate storeroom to prepare the required quantity of the sample

• Weigh and mix individual ingredients to weights specified in the formula and according to specified methods

• Weighing, potting and labelling of materials in stock

• Pack and label the samples ready for dispatch to the customer

• Maintain appropriate stocks of sample containers, dispatch boxes and other sundries necessary for the dispatch of samples

• Updating stock levels of raw materials and finished goods as and when required

• Ensure that the appropriate paperwork (e.g. specification/health and safety data) is included with the sample

• Train factory operatives as relief / replacements in the preparation of customer samples

• Use of SAP system and Microsoft Excel

  You bring

• Good math skills to read and weigh up formulas

• Detail orientated and ability to work with a sense of urgency. Handle multiple projects in an organised methodical manner

• Ability to follow proper lab procedures and safety policies. Ability to carry out repetitive procedures.

• Good communication skills. Computer literate. Work effectively as a team member. Ability to show initiative / pro-activity

• Minimum Level qualifications – good GCSE or A Level. Experience of working in a laboratory would be beneficial, but not essential
