Americas Polyethylene is seeking a sales representative for the Western Region responsible for the sales and marketing of polyethylene resins for customers located in the Midwestern states of Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Total territory sales volume is 110 MM lbs. with multiple opportunities to increase resin sales to new target customers with resin produced from CPChem’s PE assets.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage customer relationships on a day-to-day basis
Understand and represent to customers the US/Canada Polyethylene products and capabilities
Solicit and negotiate for customer orders
Gather market data and intelligence for product line
Share intelligence and information throughout the product line and company as appropriate
Develop new business opportunities in accordance with the business plan
Define customer requirements for PE products
Market new and existing Polyethylene resins
Prospect for new accounts
Determine future resin needs for customers
Develop and meet sales objectives which include annual budgets
Manage sales expenses for territory
Generate customer forecasts and enter customer prices into database
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required with Engineering or Business preferred; MBA a plus.
Minimum of 5 years chemical industry experience preferred.
In-depth knowledge of polymer products and markets desired.
Demonstrates aptitude for sales and problem solving.
Must possess outstanding interpersonal skills and have a demonstrated record of effective communication and teamwork.
Must be willing to travel within assigned territory and outside territory as needed.
The successful candidate will be located within the sales territory of Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas, or Wisconsin area will be willing to relocate to the sales territory within 3-months of employment.
Travel Requirements: Up to 50% overnight travel, depending on where Sales Representative resides within the territory
