Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Data Engineer in The Woodlands, Texas. This role falls within the tech industry and requires a detail oriented capable of designing and developing systems for large-scale data collection, storage, and analysis. The role entails working with large datasets, databases, and cloud systems, and the development and management of data pipelines.

Responsibilities:

• Design and construct systems to gather, hold, and scrutinize data at scale.

• Develop and manage efficient and secure data pipelines to ensure smooth data flow from source to destination.

• Work with extensive datasets and databases, ensuring their proper organization and storage.

• Utilize cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure to store and manage data.

• Develop and manage relational databases and data warehouses.

• Implement algorithms for data analysis and interpretation.

• Utilize Apache Kafka and Apache Spark for real-time data processing.

• Engage with EO/IR systems for data collection and analysis.

• Leverage skills in analytics and Apache Hadoop for data processing and storage.

• Develop APIs for data retrieval and integration.

• Utilize AWS technologies for data storage and management. Requirements • Proficiency in Apache Kafka and Apache Spark is essential.

• Experience with Cloud Technologies and Database management is required.

• Familiarity with EO/IR systems is a must.

• Proven experience in Algorithm Implementation is needed.

• Strong Analytics skills are vital for this role.

• Knowledge of Apache Hadoop is a prerequisite.

• Must be capable of API Development.

• Expertise in AWS Technologies is required.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a team.

• Experience in data warehousing and ETL tools is a plus.

• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.

• Knowledge of programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala is preferred.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies is beneficial.

• Experience with version control systems like Git is a plus.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker is beneficial.

• Understanding of data privacy and governance is preferred.
