Our client has a long-term, 3-6 month contract opportunity available for a Staff Accountant in The Woodlands, TX. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely journal entries, reconciling monthly balance sheet accounts, assisting in the updating of financial reports, and the creation of monthly billings. The position is fully in office, Monday-Friday from 8-5. Apply today!

Essential Duties Include:

• Prepare journal entries, with sufficient documentation, to ensure timely and accurate accounting within the monthly accounting cycle.

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements for various entities.

• Reconcile various balance sheet accounts and various operational cash accounts throughout the month.

• Ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.

• Reconcile accounts and close the books monthly.

• Assist in the filing of tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies, as requested.

• Perform general cost accounting and other related duties.

• Reconcile and pay property taxes

• Assist in audits by providing supporting documentation

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

  Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field, required.

· Public accounting experience or real estate experience highly desirable.

· Strong analytical and software skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and written communication.

· Self-motivated, detail oriented, with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work.

· Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
