We are looking for System Engineering Manager – KAVACH (TCAS)

Technically responsible system engineer with responsibility of Kavach (TCAS) offers for customer projects. Analysis and definition activities for the complete system, coordination of general technical processes in the offer. Analysis of the system requirements, coordination, and definition of the architecture of the complete system, formulation of system philosophies/architectures/interfaces, preparation of the technical offer documentation, coordination of the subsystems and interfaces, technical customer negotiations. Teamwork from pre-acquisition phase, actively advise the customer. Collaboration with internal collaborators in organization. Deeper knowledge of the train control system products. Representation of the requirements toward development and product management.

You’ll make a difference by

  • Clarification and coordination of the tasks: Independently clarify train operational and technical, as well as non-functional customer requirements and interfaces of the complete system, in offers and projects from customer documents as well as with internal and external interface partners. The internal processes and guidelines, as well as specifications and norms, and economic objective's safety, quality, time schedules, cost) are taken into account. (Requirements management (Requirements engineering) : Handle, answer and assign requirements for sub-modules.

  • Translation of the formulation into documentation: Formulating the project definition. Prepare, co-ordinate and document the system concept (Architectures, functions, interfaces) to fulfil more sophisticated technically requirements. If vital, coordination of necessary development effort.

  • System management: Division of the sophisticated architectures in the complete system into single subsystems and components, as well as control of the required interfaces up to the proof of safety and functional ability in the complete system. Operating conditions and system limits are to be considered along with preparation of technical statements.

  • System manager in the offer : System management in the context of the technical responsibility for defined subsystems, products and proceedings in the context of offers (function SMiP)

  • Communication: Central contact person for external and internal project partners, regarding the technical aspects of the complete system. Internal and external coordination of technical system documents. Collaboration with development and product management, regarding feasibility and technical risks.

  • Planning: Execution / realization planning (tasks, quality, time schedules, costs), coordination with suppliers and interfaces.

  • Reporting: Reporting and presentation of the realization progress (technical function, time schedules, costs, risks).

  • Collaboration on further development of system evolution, preparation of roadmap, release planning and documentation, competitor analysis

  • Fulfilling a technical sales function in the pre-acquisition phase, advising the customer; customer contact as well as contact to the regional units

Desired Skills:

  • Graduate in Electrical / Automation / Electrical / Communication / Railway / Informatics Engineering

  • Should have proven track record of 10+ years in Railway operations, railway signalling, Interlocking systems, Train control systems along with project execution.

  • Experience in dealing with customers and colleagues from other cultural environments (intercultural experience)

  • Good Interpersonal skills
