UTHealth Houston is looking for a Coordinator II for Educational Programs to work with our Center for Inter-Professional Collaboration. Your goal will be to advise and help create educational content that this area will use across our seven different schools. This material can be either synchronous or asynchronous for students to access. It will involve simulations and specific coursework. We require someone who has completed at least a Bachelor’s degree and has an interest in curriculum development. Will support in coordinating educational programs and scheduling events.

Experienced candidates who have worked with virtual learning or online teaching are preferred. A background in public health or the medical field is an asset but not a requirement. This coordinator will need to be flexible, as the program is always incorporating new technology and how to utilize these tools. You will constantly be working with new models of approaching curriculum and new coursework. This is a hybrid position, and you will need to come to the office as programs require. You will also be expected to help run activities and simulations at various sites when that is needed.

Position Summary:

Plans and coordinates educational programs.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Provides overall coordination and management of a health education program in order to ensure the achievement of its assigned goals and objectives.

  2. Schedules deliveries of all teaching aid materials, lab supplies, and other necessary education tools in a timely manner to ensure the desired educational and training services.

  3. Participates in all phases of a project in research-related activities, including conducting national and regional surveys to collect, code, tabulate, and analyze health data to assist faculty in the preparation of curriculum and audiovisual instructional materials.

  4. Researches and analyzes data pertaining to educational, medical, and social trends in order to keep abreast of training techniques, educational materials, and university priorities to achieve quality education.

  5. Recommends and implements policies and procedures to improve the practical clinical experience of the students in a clinical setting. The basic sciences setting requires skills in directing a lecture format and laboratory. In either setting, recommendations regarding the development and implementation of new policies and procedures to improve medical care, planning, scheduling, and training of students and residents are required.

  6. Assists course coordinators in classroom teaching assignments, prepares the course syllabi, evaluates classroom presentations, and ascertains that stated behavioral objectives and that course outlines and lesson plans are current in a research and/or educational program setting.

  7. Organizes and coordinates teaching laboratory materials maintains a list of all existing audiovisual equipment, films, slides, models, and other teaching aids, and makes recommendations for any needed equipment. Maintains current audiovisual instructional library in order to service lab and classroom training. Surveys libraries periodically for the purposes of updating reading references and makes recommendations for the acquisition of new books and other learning materials.

  8. Evaluates, modifies, and updates the curriculum and testing process.

  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or relevant experience in lieu of education.

Minimum Experience:

Three years of directly related experience in an educational setting.

Experience in classroom teaching preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:
