Position Key Accountabilities:

This is an academic appointment with research and teaching opportunities and expectations. We are looking for a clinician interested in building a busy practice at our primary location, theRobert Cizik Eye Clinic, located within theTexas Medical Center. Other responsibilities may include resident and/or fellow supervision at our county hospital, Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital, which is central to and the primary location of our education programs.

This is an academic track with the potential for tenure. Appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be determined in accordance with experience.

Qualifications:

  • Completed fellowship training or equivalent in glaucoma.

  • Board certified/eligible in ophthalmology.

  • Texas medical license or eligibility to obtain amedical license in the state of Texas.

Qualified applicants must demonstrate a commitment to excellence, discovery, and service, have the potential to be outstanding in their field of expertise, and share an interest in fulfilling the common goals of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Preferred applicants will possess and demonstrate knowledge or skills such as excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong potential for a leadership role within the department.
