Job Description
The College of Arts, Sciences and Education (CASE) seeks an outstanding candidate in educational leadership. The successful applicant will teach graduate education leadership classes with a focus on the superintendent and principal certification programs.
This is a nine-month tenure track appointment. The anticipated start date is August 2025. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. This full-time position will generally teach three (3) face to face courses per semester with the potential to have a summer appointment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach online graduate education leadership courses in the superintendent and principal certification programs
Advise and mentor graduate students and superintendent certification candidates and facilitate the Superintendent Practicum Lab
Supervise students enrolled in the Educator Preparation certification programs, per SBEC and TAC 228 requirements
Engage in scholarly activities, such as research, publication, and professional presentations
Serve on faculty committees and participate in university service
Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment for students
Work collaboratively with faculty in program development and across disciplines and contribute to curriculum and course development
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Minimum Qualifications Tenure Track – Rank Assistant Professor
A doctorate in educational leadership or related field from an accredited institution. ABD is acceptable, but degree must be conferred by the start date.
Administration licensure/certification at the superintendent level
At least three (3) years of administrative experience as school district as an assistant-superintendent or similar level position
Administration licensure/certification as a principal
At least three (3) years of administrative experience as school/campus administrator
Experience teaching using online or virtual platforms
Evidence of scholarship or potential research agenda (e.g. presentations, publications)
Ability to be on campus for student/administrative meetings at a minimum once per month
Minimum Qualifications Tenure Track – Rank Associate Professor or higher
A doctorate in educational leadership or related field from an accredited institution.
Evidence of having achieved tenure and the rank of Assistant professor from an accredited institution.
Evidence of scholarly research and publication in their respective area of discipline.
Administration licensure/certification at the superintendent level
At least five (5) years of administrative experience as school district superintendent
Administration licensure/certification as a principal
At least three (3) years of administrative experience as school/campus administrator
Experience teaching using online or virtual platforms
Ability to be on campus for student/administrative meetings at a minimum once per month
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Interest in and commitment to experiential learning
Evidence of scholarship or potential research agenda (e.g. presentations, publications)

This position generally does not supervise employees
