Raytheon’s System Integration and Test Department is seeking a Principal engineer to lead hardware repairs for the Dual Band Radar (DBR) Platform IPT. The IPT will provide engineering services on both the Zumwalt Class Destroyer and the Gerald R. Ford Carrier for the SPY-3 and SPY-4 Radars. This Hardware Platform-Support Lead (PSL) will be responsible for the repair and troubleshooting of hardware and RF equipment.
What You Will Do
Provide technical support as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on maintenance, troubleshooting, and the sustainment of DBR HW equipment, material, and processes.
Standardize the proficiency of the hardware team by identifying and specifying the training, tools, documentation, troubleshooting techniques, and best practices to be employed.
Assist in the integration of various hardware updates.
Operate radar equipment, diagnostic software, test equipment, and troubleshoot HW/SW.
Work in a military tactical environment with engineers, technicians, and Navy personnel to resolve technical and logistical problems.
Use self-initiative and discernment to identify emergent field issues, and coordinate resolution with Platform Leads.
This role can be based out of Tewksbury, MA, Marlborough, MA, Portsmouth, RI, or Moorestown NJ.
Travel possibly can exceed 50% (primary location), tavel for extended periods of time to support customer deployments. Domestic and International Travel, as well as Shipboard Operations are required and part of the team concept. Must have the ability to rotate first, second, and third shift schedules as required to meet customer support and team objectives.
An area assignment to perform work at Naval Station Norfolk, VA.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
Experience with radar hardware and/or Radio Frequency (RF) equipment.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with integration, system radar, and/or test.
Experience with a test facility, shipyard, and/or lab.
Prior experience working at a remote test site
Working in an industrial environment, shipyard
Experience working with the US Navy customer
Dynamic problem solver with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to craft solutions to everyday challenges with creative new ideas
Strong communication and influential skills and the ability to work effectively with associates at all levels throughout the organization
Military radar maintenance or operations strongly preferred
Experience using MATLAB software tools and scripts for data analysis

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
