POSITION SUMMARY
The Facilities Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the trucking terminal's facilities and yard. This role involves performing routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on building systems, equipment, and infrastructure to support daily operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on the facility and yard
- Conduct repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, CIP equipment and structural components as needed
- Strong knowledge of piping and pumps
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, storage, and equipment
- Inspect and maintain parking areas, loading docks, and driveways
- Ensure yard lighting and signage are functional and visible
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and building codes
- Conduct safety checks on fire alarms, extinguishers, and emergency exits
- Maintain documentation of safety inspections and maintenance logs
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on terminal equipment, such as dock levelers and loading machinery
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairs of mechanical and electrical systems
- Maintain landscaping, including mowing, trimming, and snow removal
- Ensure proper drainage and cleanliness of outdoor areas
- Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the Terminal Manager
- Additional duties as may be assigned
