GE Aerospace Shop Materials Leader in Terre Haute, Indiana

Job Description Summary

In this position, you will be responsible for site customer demand management, production scheduling, material planning, supply delivery, material handling, controlling inventory levels, material transportation planning and working with site function leaders to ensure all customer requirements are met. You will lead Customer Planner(s), Supply Planner(s) and Material Handling Leader(s) to optimize the use of site resources (Inventory, Space and Transportation) and the management of Key Performance Indicators inclusive of Customer & Supplier On-Time Delivery and Inventory Turns.

Primary focal for Terre Haute Plant 2 Site into Central GE Aerospace Materials team and ensures our global materials standards are used / improved in coordination with the larger team.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Direct responsibility for Site S&OE (Sales & Operations Execution) activities in alignment with the Central GE Aerospace Materials team.

  • Leadership responsibility for executing Customer Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Integrity and Material Handling processes. Manages the exempt salaried team executing these processes.

  • Facilitates opportunities to optimize customers and suppliers delivery, inventories for raw material, work in process, finished goods, and productivity through problem solving and continuous improvement.

  • Influences the development of strategy for Site related to Inventory, Storage and Logistics of procured and manufactured materials.

  • Leads and develops the team in accordance with the GE Aerospace People Leadership model and FLIGHT DECK operating system.

  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks in areas of operations, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.

  • Communicates and trains difficult concepts with clarity and influences others to try processes outside of traditional practice.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with minimum of 5 years planning, materials, sourcing, or other related supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 9 years of planning, materials, sourcing, or other related supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment)
