About you and this role
The Analytical Center of Excellence (ACE) organization is looking for anAnalytical Technician (day shift)for the Ecology lab located in Terneuzen, The Netherlands.
The Ecology lab is part of the Manufacturing Production Quality (MPQ) labs in Terneuzen and plays a crucial role in maintaining the site's license to operate. The lab conducts analyses on water samples from the wastewater treatment plant, as well as soil and air samples from across the entire site. All activities in this lab comply with ISO9001 standards, and stack gas analyses also adhere to ISO17025 standards.
The role of Analytical Technician in the Ecology lab requires a strong affinity with several quality systems (ISO9001, ISO17025, Analytical Work Process) as well as all requirements to adhere to these standards.
Responsibilities
Stack gas analysis (under ISO17025) on CxHy, CO, NOx, O2 plus groundwater & soil analysis.
Preparing, conducting, and reporting on noise studies.
Accurately execute service requests and return data according to the sample plan.
Operate and troubleshoot analytical equipment following established procedures.
Input quality data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), document, and communicate results.
Perform calibration and first-line maintenance of analytical equipment, documenting and administering these activities. Communicate maintenance work as needed.
Adhere to Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), Analytical Work Process, and Operating Discipline/Quality System procedures and practices, as well as ISO17025 standards.
Collaborate and communicate with co-workers and clients to maintain workflow and share problem-solving and prevention expertise.
Contribute to continuous improvement of procedures in analytical work processes, related tools, and performance metrics.
Promote a well-organized, responsive, and efficient workplace, working effectively both as a team member and independently.
Qualifications
Minimum of a laboratory degree on MBO-4 (vocational) level or a similar qualification.
At least 5 years of experience in an industrial laboratory (analytical) setting.
Proficiency in the English language.
Strong lab techniques, meticulous record-keeping, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with co-workers.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills to effectively interact with team members, partners, and customers.
Confidence in validating methods and data.
Knowledge of Microsoft tools such as Word and Excel.
Driver license B.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's degree (HBO/HLO) or a similar qualification.
Experience with ISO9001 and ISO17025 standards.
Experience in performing and reporting stack gas analysis.
Proficiency in the Dutch language.
Experience in the operation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of analytical equipment.
Knowledge of quality data systems such as LIMS, Focus EMI, OpenLab, etc.
