ARAMARK Waste Water Treatment Operator - Big Bend Station in Terlingua, Texas

Job Description

Under direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager, this associate while in a training capacity, assists in the performance of all required job duties to produce treated effluent that meet all state and federal regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Will have a minimum qualification of a Class C Wastewater Operator license (Texas)

  • Will continue to remain qualified and licensed.

  • Operates and maintains the wastewater/water system including servicing of pumps, blowers, motors, valves, generators, and equipment.

  • Operates and maintains sewage pump/lift stations; cleans wet wells and operates pumps and valves to control and adjust flow and treatment process.

  • Monitors the performance of all equipment, gauges and charts in the treatment plant, water system, and pump/lift stations; Records statistical data concerning plant operations.

  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on wastewater equipment, lift station equipment, and water system equipment.

  • Performs facility grounds maintenance including cleaning equipment and tanks.

  • Responds to complaints regarding wastewater and water system failures, leaks, or other problems; evaluates situation and performs necessary repairs.

  • Maintains a variety of records relating to inspections, maintenance activity, etc.

  • Calibrates, modifies, or repairs instrumentation and control equipment including recorders, flowmeter and other wastewater and water quality monitoring equipment.

  • Collects samples and identifies concentrations of chemical, physical, or biological characteristics of wastewater required in accordance with local, state and Federal requirements.

  • Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports of water and wastewater operations. Additionally, prepares permitted required reports.

  • Performs quality control tests on lab equipment and lab analyses; evaluates procedures, results for accuracy, and determines appropriate methods.

  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Constant bending, lifting, climbing, carrying, crawling, cleaning, spitting. This is a physical job in a dirty and noisy environment.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 5+ years relevant wastewater operations experience and/or training, required.

  • Possess a valid driver?s license.

  • Possess valid TCEQ Class C Wastewater License

  • Possess valid TCEQ Class C Water License (or able to acquire within 3 years of employment)

  • Must be available for night and weekend on-call status.

  • Knowledge Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one small group situations to manager and other employees of the organization

  • Ability to work well with others.

  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form.

  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to use a calculator.

  • Basic computer skills with windows-based word processing and spreadsheet software. (Prefer Word and Excel)

  • HAZMAT training preferred.

  • Prior work record indicating dependability and conscientiousness.
