In this exciting Senior Materials Engineer position, you will be responsible for performing physical analysis of electronic components and medical devices, developing analysis techniques, and supporting analysis tools in a laboratory setting. You will have hands on responsibilities on multiple tools and you will collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines.

This position will work onsite at our plant in Tempe, Arizona

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Perform physical failure analysis of electronic components and medical devices

  • Understand complex issues and consult with internal customers to conduct meaningful analyses

  • Experience with the following instruments and techniques: CT and/or 2D x-ray, laser and/or optical profilometry, mechanical cross-sectioning, SEM, EDS, C-SAM, FIB, optical microscopy and de-processing

  • Write technical reports that will clearly and accurately convey analytical results and conclusions

  • Develop and improve methods as needed to analyze a variety of unique materials sets

  • Generate and maintain documentation for lab equipment and processes

  • Interface with a variety of customers

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Broad knowledge of analytical tools and techniques to interpret data collected from outside laboratories

  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment

  • Strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
