U-Haul Repair Hotline Specialist in Tempe, Arizona

If you are a detail-oriented communicator with a knack for automotive repair, maintenance and diagnostics, consider becoming U-Haul’s newest Truck Development Specialist. In this role you will be constantly learning about and improving truck and trailer designs, repair standards and identifying areas for improvement and coordinating with a wide variety of team members to accomplish them. Truck Development Specialist Primary Responsibilities:
Provide OEM specifications and assist in the diagnostics of equipment mechanical issues
Provide, interpret, guide automotive technicians through wiring schematics
Research and create repair methods for trucks in the U-Haul fleet
Identify and communicate about methods or parts conducive to extending vehicle longevity
Skills:
Basic understanding of electric/electrical circuit operation.
Ability to read and comprehend wiring schematics.
Experience in diagnosing computer controlled drive train components.
Perform calibrations on vehicle power trains.
Proficient use of various diagnostic scan tools.
Automotive service and repair experience in a dealership/ OEM setting.
Acute attention to detail.
Excellent oral communication skills in English and technical writing.
Identify best practices for diagnostic/ repair processes.
Must be flexible and have a positive attitude.
Ford and/or GM factory training and experience
Qualifications:
3-5 years repair and diagnostics experience.
U-Haul Master Technician status not a pre-requisite but desired
U-Haul Master Technician status within 2 years of job position start date
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work Environment:
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g. working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields. Physical Demands:
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, positioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
