Summary

Performs task associated with developing new power generation resource options to meet SRP needs. Supports coordination of internal teams and external consultants on resource development activities including site selection, land acquisition, permitting, siting, infrastructure, technology selection conceptual design and issuance of necessary agreements. Communicates analytical results and recommendations to various levels of SRP management and stakeholders.

This position is part of the Resource Development team and will focus on siting, permitting, conceptual design, cost estimating, schedule, and other development efforts for SRP generation resources.

What You'll Do

• Develops answers to complex, open-ended questions involving significant uncertainty and ambiguity with meaningful economic and operational implications.

• Conducts investigation and evaluation of future resource options to meet SRP's load requirements and achieve corporate goals. These decisions have a direct and lasting impact on SRP's financial performance, reliability and achieving sustainability goals.

• Supports project teams in the development of new generation resources, including site selection, land acquisition, transmission, fuel supply, water supply, permitting, siting, technology selection, conceptual design, cost estimates, schedule, and issuance of necessary agreements.

• Presents results of analysis and recommended courses of action to various internal and external stakeholders.

• Directly assists in the development of others’ knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• Provide direction to analysts and engineers in the development of new resource alternatives.

• Analyzes the economic and operational impacts of environmental and other regulatory policy proposals and develop responses to these proposals on an SRP-specific and state-wide basis.

• Participates in the negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements and outright power plant acquisitions.

• Oversees Strategic Competitive Market analyses and Business Studies.

Experience

Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years experience at Level 1 and demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor. Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of 3 years experience at Level 2, is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.

Education

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
