Join our collaborative facilities team in Tucson, AZ at the UA Tech Park as a facilities plumber. Helping deliver safe, reliable and extremely competitive integrated facilities management services that focus on enhancing the life-cycle and performance output of our client’s equipment and assets. Our facilities plumber position offers you the opportunity to perform a wide variety of general repair work on equipment and systems at the UA Tech Park.

To perform this work, you will need to have hands-on experience and possess a working knowledge of the principles, practices, materials, tools and equipment used for installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing systems. In addition, you must be able to inspect major piping systems, identify operational problems and offer solutions to make permanent repairs to plumbing systems; be able to perform basic trouble-shooting on plumbing and other systems in a large-scale commercial, industrial or manufacturing facility; be able to work with technology, including radios and workstations to record work order data in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); be able to layout and provide estimates or work required for plumbing projects, as well as plumbing maintenance and repair work; be familiar with Dom, Water, DWV, hot and chilled water, non-potable and storm drains; acid resistant, be able to work with copper, PVC, no-hub C.I., hub and spigot and threaded pipe; be willing to assist with more complex plumbing tasks and perform other duties as assigned by and under supervision of the may also assist senior maintenance technicians with complex plumbing tasks and projects. Our plumber should be an organized, self-directed individual with a minimum of 3 years of plumbing experience required.

To complete this repair work, you may be required to use lifts and ladders, work in confined spaces, as well as work in a variety of weather conditions. The ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally is required, along with some experience with computers, hand-held personal digital assistants (PDAs) or tablets. Basic typing skills are also required.

This position vacancy at the UA Tech Park project is available on first shift, which operates from M-F 7AM to 3:30PM. Other work scheduling requirements may also apply during extreme weather events. Holiday and weekend work may be required to ensure necessary coverage to meet project and client requirements.

  • HS Diploma or GED, or experience in lieu of degree

  • 3 years of experience with the installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing systems

  • Possess a valid driver’s license with ability to be covered by Jacobs’ insurance carrier

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • 5 years’ experience with the installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing systems

  • Backflow Prevention Tester Certification

  • Arizona Plumbing Contractor License
