CobbFendley is seeking a Field Technician in our Tempe, Arizona office.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidates most important qualifications include the following:

  • Mid level of experience with utility locating equipment and understanding of utility construction methods.
  • Ability to interpret ArizzonaDOT and municipal plans, preferred
  • Ability to interpret utility company records and identify utilities from field observations. Preferred
  • Valid Drivers License required.
  • Commercial Drivers License a plus.
  • Motivation to work in a dynamic environment with strict deadlines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Locate aerial, buried, and underground utilities through nondestructive methods.
  • Locate and identify building utility entrance and exits.
  • Distinguish types of cabling and equipment on utility poles.
  • Record and document the field data in accordance with CAD standard formats.
  • Document location of telephone poles and attachments.
  • Identify and measure duct banks and riser conduits.
  • Operate and maintain company equipment and vehicles.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Travel is a mandatory requirement of the role as assigned. The percentage of travel will fluctuate based on business needs and at times may account for 40% of the time worked. Travel includes to other offices or project sites throughout the US.

  • Work with minimal supervision/in a collaborative team environment and deliver accurate work product.

PHYSICAL + COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS

Sitting and Standing. Extended periods of sitting and standing in an upright position at a workstation.

Mobility. Movement within the office and job sites, including navigating between floors, workstations, and outdoor environments.

Head and Neck Movement. Forward flexion, extension, or lateral rotation of the head and neck while using multiple computer screens.

Repetitive Motion. Repetitive finger movements for operating a computer mouse and typing on a keyboard.

Arm Movement. Extending hands and arms in various directions, such as overhead, below the waist, forward, or laterally.

Object Handling. Raising or lowering objects from one level to another and transporting objects by holding them in the hands, arms, or over the shoulder.
