GE Vernova Lead Automation Test Engineer in Telangana, India

Job Description Summary

The Automation Test Engineer's role will require working with the Scrum development team and product management team to create and execute test solutions, both manual and automated, for product releases.

You will work among a talented and motivated R&D team, applying technologies such as On-line Dissolved Gas Measurement (DGA), Bushing Measurement (Tan Delta and Capacitance), Partial Discharge (PD) detection (UHF & Electrical) and Fast Transient measurement.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Define, implement, and execute manual and automated tests across our fleet of Kelman products to ensure product functionality and robustness.

  • Extensive experience as a Firmware test and automation engineer using Python and RobotFramework.

  • Designed and maintained a complete test automation framework.

  • Implement test automation script where appropriate to improve test efficiency, repeatability, coverage, and accuracy.

  • Ensure traceability of requirements to test cases and test scripts.

  • Identify, recommend, and implement procedures to improve the efficiency of QA test execution.

  • Participates efficiently in pull request reviews and helps the team merge only high-quality scripts into the central repository.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Computer Science discipline or equivalent.

  • Preferably 8+ years of experience as a Firmware test and automation engineer.

  • Designed and maintained a complete test automation framework

  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.

  • Evidence of mentoring/coaching software team members.

Desired Characteristics

  • Understanding of embedded systems and environments.

  • Prior knowledge of HMI is a plus.

  • Experience of Linux Operating system or RTOS environments.

  • Good to have knowledge on Analog inputs, digital inputs (microcontroller chips pin layout), registers, sensors.

  • Preferably hands-on experience with PyCharm/VS Code.

  • Familiarity with HP ALM Quality Centre and Rally/JIRA

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline.

  • Familiarity with test automation libraries such as Selenium and RestAPI, and frameworks like Robot Framework, POM, etc

  • Strong communications skills, with a proven ability to work successfully within a geographically distributed team.

  • Ability to demonstrate delivery to time, quality and budget within an Agile programming environment.

  • Ability to understand mechanical and electronic systems.
