Leidos DevOps Expert in Tel Aviv, Israel

Description

As a DevOps Expert with a strong background in cloud technologies, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our software development and deployment processes. You will collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to streamline workflows, automate infrastructure provisioning, and ensure continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines are efficient and reliable. This role requires expertise in DevOps practices, cloud platforms (you will manage different kinds of cloud-based environments, from fully self-managed servers) and containerized applications to pure serverless workloads., and a proactive approach to improving scalability, security, and performance.

Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Automation and Configuration Management:

  • Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to automate provisioning and configuration of cloud resources.

  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to ensure scalability, high availability, and cost efficiency.

  • Implement and enforce best practices for security, compliance, and performance optimization within cloud environments.

Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD):

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable automated build, test, and deployment of applications across development, staging, and production environments.

  • Integrate automated testing and monitoring tools into CI/CD pipelines to ensure quality and performance of applications.

  • Facilitate seamless deployment and rollback strategies, minimizing downtime and disruptions.

Monitoring, Logging, and Incident Response:

  • Establish monitoring and logging frameworks to proactively monitor system performance, health, and security of cloud-based applications and infrastructure.

  • Configure alerting mechanisms and dashboards (e.g., ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana) to track key metrics and troubleshoot issues in real-time.

  • Collaborate with teams to develop incident response plans and procedures, ensuring rapid resolution and post-incident analysis.

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:

  • Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to foster a DevOps culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on DevOps practices, tools, and cloud technologies.

  • Contribute to the development of documentation, guidelines, and best practices to standardize processes and facilitate knowledge sharing.

Performance Optimization and Cost Management:

  • Identify opportunities for performance optimization, scalability improvements, and cost reduction in cloud infrastructure and applications.

  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to optimize resource utilization, eliminate inefficiencies, and forecast future capacity requirements.

  • Implement strategies for budget management, cost monitoring, and optimization in collaboration with finance and procurement teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert) preferred.

  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in DevOps roles with a focus on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Strong proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools and configuration management (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).

  • Expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.

  • Experience with container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker Swarm) and microservices architecture.

  • Solid understanding of networking, security principles, and best practices in cloud environments.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues across multiple layers of the technology stack.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
