The Role

Our Transformation Management Consulting practice is looking for a Consulting Manager to join our journey. We're looking for someone who is passionate about transformation, wants to make an impact, and loves working together to deliver flawless results for an end-client to join us on our mission. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for using proven methodology to create a client strategy and a change strategy to help drive business and IT strategies and implementations for the Fortune 2000.

With a focus on Change, Training, and Communication, our OCM Practice is an integral part of our Consulting offering, because we help organizations make changes successfully. We support all types of Business and IT Strategy transformations such as Organizational Re-alignments, Digital Transformations, Business and IT Outsourcing, IT Package Implementations and Upgrades (i.e., SAP, Oracle, SalesForce.com, ServiceNow, & most industry leading practice packages), Organizational Design & Governance, Workforce Strategy & Planning, Mergers and Acquisitions, Target Operating Model Transformations, and more. We lead with a strong platform for integrated OCM and Technology, which sets us apart from the competition and makes this group a key partner in some of the biggest and most business-changing digital transformations in the industry.

To be successful, you'll need a background that supports your ability to upskill and implement traditional change management capabilities such as Organizational Change Management Strategy & Planning, Change Impact Assessments, Readiness Assessments, Stakeholder Analysis & Engagement, Communications (Strategy, Planning and Implementation), Training (Strategy, Planning and Delivery). For these positions, we are considering people with transferrable skills, such as experience in Communications, Marketing, Teaching, Social Media, or Accounting.

We're looking for Consulting Managers who can deliver within Cognizant's Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence, which are: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Consulting Manager (which is a Senior Manager level position) this means leading a team of Consultants through a client-facing engagement, managing escalations, and serving as a the owner of a workstream; maintaining expertise in your domain; meaningfully contributing to the sales process through a mix of RPI development, client presentations, financial modeling, pricing strategy, and flawless delivery; creating service offerings and/or client partner training materials; and contributing to PeopleCare initiatives, recruiting, and mentoring. Responsabilities

  • Lead a team to analyze, develop and deliver creative solutions that address client problems with excellence while also fostering strong client relationships and manage the work of OCM resources
  • Provide periodic reports to steering committee and coordinate with implementation team to align change management activities with implementation tasks
  • Recognize and mitigate potential risks
  • Lead project team staffing plans and resource deployment across projects
  • Provide opportunities for team members to grow skills while fulfilling project responsibilities
  • Develop deep knowledge of a particular field or skill by purposeful learning and share/present this information as a Point of View to educate Client or Cognizant associates
  • Monetize expertise by billing at top dollars on a client project and being recognized as an expert in client feedback
  • Identify ways to attract, develop, and retain your associate team members
  • Develop, coach, and retain teams through feedback, mentorship/apprenticeship
  • Lead, create, and meaningfully contribute to business development opportunities that grow our business
  • Assist consulting partners/author proposals/RFP responses
  • Lead initiatives to support strategic initiatives, service lines, and service offerings that meet/align with market needs and trends working closely with consulting partners and horizontal leads
  • Mentor associates on how to execute on OCM strategies to a high degree of quality (e.g., Change and Readiness, Training Needs Assessment, Customized Curricula, Communications, Courseware)

Qualifications

  • The track record and experience to achieve the above, which includes ideally 6-8+ years of management consulting experience, where at least 2 of those (though ideally 4+) have been Digital technology (business or technical consultative) team lead experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Information Technology, Business, Communications, Finance, Logistics, Marketing, Engineering, or equivalent
  • The ability to set and manage multiple project plans for a single client; a command of project management principles and a track record of applying them to drive transformation successfully
  • Experience leading technical and non-technical initiatives; previous experience coordinating workstreams in multi-team projects, ideally using an onsite / offshore model
  • Leadership skills that bring out the best in others; the ability to oversee multiple Consultants and non-consultants who are working toward a common goal - the best possible outcome for a client
  • A desire to work with enterprise-level clients and the ability to manage through complexity
  • Relevant domain, industry, or product certifications, depending on your industry/capability majors and minors (BFS, CMT, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Tech Modernization, Enterprise Process, etc)
  • Experience with program quality frameworks, methods, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma)
  • Travel Required: As needed by client
  • Onsite Requirements: Remote Work
  • MBA or PGDM degree Preferred

Work Authorization

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $135,000.00 - $155,000.00 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
