Position Summary:

Provides administrative supervision of the clerical function of Physical Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates communication between the department and other facility departments, physicians and patients.

• Prepares staff work schedules and patient schedules.

• Prepares and maintains patient files.

• Plans and assigns daily clerical work to other staff.

• Participates and makes recommendations in the hiring discipline and evaluation of job performance of support staff.

• Trains new employees as well as assisting in the continuing education of existing staff. Assists in orientation of all staff.

• Maintains office equipment, orders supplies, communicates with vendors.

• Plans, organizes and maintains effective department filing systems.

• Prepares departmental reports.

• Produces and maintains written policy and procedure manuals.

• Composes and/or types correspondence and administrative documents.

• Prepares billings.

• Coordinates QA statistics and reporting.

• Prepares incident reports.

• Ensures that all work as assigned is completed in a timely and efficient manner.

• Performs computation of time cards.

• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals possessing an Associate’s degree in a directly-related field from an accredited college or university.

Minimum Experience

One (1) years’ experience in a clerical supervisory position is required .
