Job Title: Machine Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary: Responsible for ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on CNC machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations and manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications. Troubleshooting malfunctions and repair where necessary.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Receive work orders, identify faulty equipment and acquire parts and equipment to complete repairs.
Troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain production equipment from basic hydraulic equipment to complex CNC machinery, performing both electrical and mechanical work,
Complete projects such as mechanical and electrical hardware and software upgrades, calibrations and retrofits.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, level, plumb bobs, and straight edges.
Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop tools and equipment.
Review production specifications, identify and report capacity restraints.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Maintain and acquire new technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications and establishing personal networks.
Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Highschool diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or 6 months industry related experience and/or training.
Certification from a qualified training institution in the field of machine maintenance is ideal but not required.
2+ years of equipment maintenance in a machine shop environment is required.
Experience with CNC repair and/or robotics is required.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office knowledge and/or Computerized Maintenance Management System is desired.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong analytical and problem solving ability.
Ability to perform maintenance functions such as replacing spindles, ball screws, bearings, slides and other components of machine tools.
Ability to coordinate and prioritize daily workload based on capacity and customer demands.
Proficient in MS Office.
Excellent communication, project management and organizational skills.
Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems.
Demonstrated ability to perform electrical, mechanical and hydraulic repairs used in electrical and mechanical maintenance technician work assignments.
High ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and perform repairs.
Ability to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand up to 90% of the work day.
Must be able to lift/carry products and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to bend or climb into and out of machines.
