We are seeking an independent and experienced Senior Associate Scientist to join our VI Next team. You will collaborate cross-functionally to develop and improve animal models to study various immunological diseases.

As a Senior Associate Scientist, a typical day may include:

• Designing and performing immunization/infection/tumor experiments in mice

• Performing serological assays such as ELISA or Luminex to measure antibody responses and inflammatory markers

• Isolating immune cell populations and performing multicolor flow cytometry

• Performing tissue staining and microscopy

• Determining the effects of various therapeutic molecules on disease course

• Reading literature and proposing new ideas and solutions

• Interacting with cross-functional teams and presenting data in small and large group settings

• Are able to perform detailed experiments independently and reproducibly

• Are able to coordinate multiple projects and work collaboratively across groups

• Are highly organized and have experience maintaining detailed records

• Have a desire to continually take on new challenges, learn new techniques, and expand your skill sets to meet the evolving needs of the group

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have at least a BS/MS with 3-5+ years of relevant experience in immunology. You must have extensive in vivo mouse handling experience including infection/immunization, blood sampling, tissue collection, and immune cell isolation. Experience with serological assays and multicolor flow cytometry is highly preferred. Experience with tissue imaging or neuroscience is a plus.
