We are seeking a collaborative Senior Associate Scientist to join our Preclinical Histology Core to support preclinical research across our therapeutic focus areas. You will use groundbreaking histotechnologies, automation at major workflow steps, imaging instruments, and software. You will also develop novel methods to power exploratory research including highly multiplexed IHC/ISH staining techniques and building image data repositories to power quantitative analyses and machine learning data mining efforts.

As a Senior Associate Scientist, at typical day may include:

• Using histological techniques including grossing, fixation, decalcification, embedding, for both paraffin and cryo sectioning of animal samples

• Driving histology-based assays including immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), in-situ hybridization (ISH, e.g. RNAScope), and specialized histochemical stains using stainers like Ventana Discovery Ultra, Leica Bond, or Leica Spectra

• Supporting lab operations including organization and order of materials and reagents required for studies and maintenance of histology equipment, as well as online and physical records of data

• Working closely with team members to coordinate and troubleshoot multiple experiments, accommodate changing priorities and timelines, and provide updates on the progress of projects

This role may be for you if you have:

• Shown history of designing, executing, and reporting histology experiments in a timely and independent manner

• Strong communication and social skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a larger project within a team-first environment

• Exceptional attention to detail, and due diligence in project execution

• A passion for biology and helping others and a dedication to share, collaborate, and lift up others

In order to be considered for this role, you must have at least a BS/MS degree in a scientific field and 3+ years of relevant histology experience. Must have extensive expertise with tissue processing. Must have experience with histology techniques including immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence (IHC/IF), in situ hybridization (RNAScope, BaseScope), and IF multiplex panels. We need someone with a solid knowledge in basic mouse anatomy. Experience with pathology assessments is a plus.

Salary Range (annually)

$77,600.00 - $126,600.00
