Senior Vice President – Operational Risk – Wealth Management

Reporting to the Director, Global Wealth Products Lead, this position provides effective oversight of Business operational risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation processes. “Business” in this context refers to the Wealth Global Products functions (CIO & Investment Solutions, Deposits & Lending) as well as the product support teams and vendors supporting or used by the P&L owners who own the Risk. The Wealth Products ORM coverage team performs their role through proactive engagement with Business Management, and through effective challenge in formal governance forums and in day-to-day interactions as well as working with peer 2LoD groups, e.g., Compliance. This role will also work with Regional ORM coverage teams and SMEs (Tech, Cyber, Data Third Party etc.).

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and oversees the application of operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.

  • independently asses risks and drive actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for all performance issues that surface.

  • Issues Management (KPI/KRI/Corrective Action Plans)

  • Resolves transactional level escalations coming from the vendor or internal partners

  • Monitors goals are met through performance, risk and relationship oversight of our extended supply chain and ensures compliance

  • Collaborates to resolve any issues which fall within the terms of the contract. Escalate those that require commercial or legal support.

  • Develops and maintains relationships across the business users and Lines of Defense to better understand and deliver customer requirements by responding to changes in the internal and external business environment

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

  • Provide support to the Wealth Products Lead in relevant New Activity Governance forums as required and provide oversight of Product Governance requirements from an operational risk perspective.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry with knowledge of Wealth Management products.

  • Practical experience in capital markets, banking, lending, or portfolio management preferable.

  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills through all levels of the organization and with external partners and vendors.

  • Exceptional relationship management skills; must be able to address and resolve conflict while maintaining relationships. Ability to effectively communicate complex topics to a broad audience.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely and effective manner and thrive in a fast-paced environment that lends itself to changing priorities and quick turnaround.

  • Detailed oriented with analytical skills, as the role requires a large amount of data manipulation and presentation.

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Tableau.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or another relevant field preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$130,880.00 - $196,320.00
