Leidos Release Manager in Tampa, Florida

This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Enterprise Development, Application, and Training (EDAT) mission. In this mission we are focused on providing innovative, data-driven solutions and enterprise architecture enhancements to enable

seamless operations across USSOCOM's global network. The program emphasizes rapid development and deployment of technologies to enhance the mobility and readiness of Special Operations Forces (SOF) in both combat and non-combat scenarios. Key tasks include program management, application development,

training support, and technology integration to maintain USSOCOM's operational edge. The EDAT program underscores agility and adaptability, ensuring SOF professionals have access to the information and tools they need to meet evolving mission requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, and oversee software releases and infrastructure updates to ensure timely and efficient delivery.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and security, to define release requirements and schedules.

  • Manage the release pipeline, ensuring all changes are properly tested, approved, and documented before deployment. Coordinate deployments across environments, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and adherence to program requirements.

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with releases, ensuring compliance with DoD and program-specific standards.

  • Address and resolve issues during the release process, providing detailed reports and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Ensure all releases meet DoD compliance standards, including RMF, DISA STIG, and NIST 800-53 requirements.

  • Work closely with cybersecurity teams to ensure security measures are integrated into release processes. Integrate DevSecOps principles into release management processes, leveraging CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.

  • Identify opportunities to optimize the release process, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and reliability.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of release plans, schedules, and outcomes for transparency and auditability.

  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and areas for improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field.

  • Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Certified Release Manager (CRM), or Project Management Professional (PMP).

  • Equivalent military or technical training in release or project management may be considered.

  • 4-7 years of experience in release management, change management, or related roles within enterprise or government environments.

  • Demonstrated experience managing software and infrastructure releases using structured processes.

  • Familiarity with release management tools and platforms, such as Jira, GitLab, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.

  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and DevSecOps practices.

  • Must possess a Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to coordinate complex release activities.

  • Strong analytical skills to identify risks, resolve issues, and ensure smooth release processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field.

  • Security certifications like CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or CCSP are advantageous.

  • Familiarity with USSOCOM’s operational requirements and the SOF Information Environment (SIE).

  • Experience managing releases within DoD programs with strict compliance and security mandates.

  • Experience integrating advanced automation tools into release management workflows to improve efficiency and reliability.

  • Knowledge of cloud-based release processes and managing deployments across hybrid environments.

  • Proven ability to identify gaps in release processes and implement innovative solutions to address them.

  • Experience adopting and promoting industry best practices for release management.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to document processes and deliver updates to stakeholders.

  • Experience training teams on release management practices, tools, and compliance standards.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00
